Who is Liuba?
Liuba Bialion a visionary artist weaving a tapestry of sustainable fashion that transcends time and trends. With a Master’s Degree in Economics, Liuba’s path made a turn at the age of 25 when she traded her office job for a life of pattern making and hand sewing. Drawing inspiration from diverse cultures and traditions, Liuba embarked on a quest to explore the art of handcraft techniques and the beauty of vintage textiles. Last 12 years – exploring textiles of the Nothern Thailand and Laos.A graduate of the Escuela de Diseño de Mari Capitani in Argentina (2012), Liuba’s creative journey spans nearly two decades, where she has passionately delved into the artistry of handwoven textures and Japanese hand stitches Sashiko. Her collaborations with Thai hill tribes, particularly the Karen hill tribe, reflect her dedication to preserving traditional craftsmanship and celebrating cultural richness, as well as supporting local community.
Inspired by the harmony of nature, the wabi-sabí of Japanese Boro style, and a deep-rooted respect for global textile traditions, Liuba’s work is a testament to her values and her profound connection to the Earth throughout history. She meticulously sources eco-friendly, handwoven, and hand-dyed fabrics from diverse cultures, intertwining them into one-of-a-kind pieces that resonate with the shared humanity of individuals through time and space.
